REPEATER
Second Soft Pack themed post of the year. Need some ideas. They should stop making such awesome music so I could stop being so totally gay for this band...
Oh, also, today I pretty much lost my job, so this video is kind of topical... Kind of... But I don't work in pizza. Or anywhere sunny. Or anywhere.

THE 1920s
This is an abandoned pub near me that they occasionally turn into a 1920s style gin palace "speakeasy" type thing. Not that alcohol is in anyway illegal now so it's kind of pointless. But a bit of a laugh nonetheless.
Thing is, I don't reckon anybody in the 1920s ever dressed up like it was the 1840s... I don't really get it. But I was drunk so it didn't matter.

NO AGE (at church)
I went and saw No Age in a rickety church hall and it was awesome. Results below.

ART
Sometimes someone does something that's just undeniably amazing, which was the sensation I felt when looking at the Anish Kapoor exhibition at the Royal Academy right now. Things like forcing weird huge chunks of wax through creaky, century-old archways and weird mirrors that make you look stupid etc... It was silly and pointless but really imaginative at the same time. You don't have to think about what any of it means, you can just stare at it for a while and be like "That's pretty cool".
I enjoyed it a lot. I thought it was pretty cool.

BUG
Went to BUG, the music video thing that Adam Buxton (of Adam and Joe) puts on at the BFI.
This video is quite possibly one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

AMAZING

Drummer is wearing an Obits shirt too. Whose lead singer Rick Froberg did that right funny picture up there in my blog title.

OFFSET FESTIVAL
Male Bonding induced actual male (and female) bonding.

Special mention as well for these two, who staged over an hour of indecipherable noise and reverb drenched screaming around the back of the dance tent. They actually turned out to be a preferable alternative to the horror story that was the Slits headlining the main stage.
Mike was then accosted by strange smiling bearded men on the tube.
An alleged stabbing in London Fields meant police lines everywhere on the way home. Seemed a bit weird that a screening of 70s gang warfare classic 'The Warriors' still went ahead in the park the next day.
